We are setting up a new chemical blending area in our Ras Al Khor facility and I am stuck on a layout decision. We will have two IBC totes sitting side by side against the wall, and the options I keep going back and forth on are either buying two single units or one large double. The double IBC spill pallet I saw is 2200x1300x500mm which would cover both totes in one footprint and keeps everything neat, but it also locks me into that exact arrangement forever. With two separate ones I could move them around if we change the layout later, or even separate them if we ever split the storage across two rooms. The downside is obviously cost, two singles seem to run higher than one double from what I have seen. Also practical stuff like cleaning, a single large tray with two drums sitting in it sounds harder to drain and wash out than two smaller ones you can tip individually. Has anyone actually used the double style long term and found it better or worse? I am not fussed about the look, just want the setup that causes fewer headaches down the line.
