95Ah or 100Ah for my Pajero? Shop gave me two prices, need help
#1
I went to a battery shop last Saturday for my Mitsubishi Pajero, and the guy gave me two options that looked almost the same to me, a 95Ah and a 100Ah. The price was a little different, and when I asked which one I should take, he just shrugged and said both are fine. That did not help at all. My battery is about three years old, and for the last two weeks the engine has been cranking slower in the morning after a hot night outside. I do not carry a fridge or extra lights, just a dash cam and a phone charger, so I am not sure I need the bigger one. At home I tried to learn more and found a page on Professional Varta 95Ah battery replacement in Dubai, and what I took from it is that the Ah number shows how much energy the battery can store, and the right size depends on what your car was made for. So now I want to ask people who know better than me. Is 5Ah really a big difference, or is it only a number on the label? Does the bigger one last longer in this heat, or does it just cost more? Is it important to match the size that came with the car, or can I go a little higher without trouble? I also wonder about the tray and the cables. Will both fit the same way? Another question is the date on the label, because I do not want one that sat on a shelf for a year. Is one year warranty normal, and do shops test the alternator when you change the battery? If you had to pick between two close sizes, please tell me what you chose, what you paid, and how long it lasted. Easy answers help me most.
