I've wanted a matte black car since I was a teenager and now that I can finally afford to wrap my Supra I'm worried I'll regret it within a year. Everyone keeps telling me matte looks amazing for about six months and then starts showing every fingerprint, water spot and patch of dust, and with the amount of construction dust around my area that sounds like a nightmare. Gloss seems more forgiving and easier to clean but honestly feels a bit boring since my car is already glossy. I've been reading up on 800 Sayara car wrapping in Dubai to understand how different finishes age here and it seems like the film brand matters more than the finish itself, but I'd rather hear from people who've actually lived with matte through a summer. Does matte really stain if you leave bird droppings on it for a day? And is the cleaning routine as dramatic as people make it sound, or is it just a matter of avoiding the wrong products? If matte is genuinely high maintenance I'll probably go satin as a compromise.
