Getting a Cayenne checked before buying, is the process different for SUVs?
#1
I'm close to pulling the trigger on a used Cayenne and I've been trying to work out whether an inspection on an SUV like this is the same as checking a sports car or whether there's more to look at. The air suspension worries me most, since I've heard it can be a money pit if it's on its way out, and I want someone to actually test the ride heights and listen for the compressor rather than just bouncing the corners and saying it feels fine. I found https://prepurchasecarinspection.ae/brands/porsche/ while reading up on what a proper check should cover, and it did mention the suspension and drivetrain items specific to these cars, which is more than the general checklist I'd seen elsewhere. My question is whether the inspector needs the car for longer on something this big, and whether they can actually catch early air suspension issues before they become an obvious fault. Has anyone had a Cayenne inspected and did the report flag anything suspension related that you'd never have noticed on a test drive?
