It's 2026, and I'm still tinkering with my 1969 Dodge Charger restomod. Last year, I dropped a BluePrint Engines Gen III Hemi Compatible 426 crate motor in it, paired with a Tremec TKX five-speed from American Powertrain. That was a game-changer compared to the old carbureted 440 and 4-speed. Now, with my annual trip from my home base down to the Outer Banks, North Carolina just around the corner, I'm finding that while the car is way more reliable and comfortable, there's still a ton of prep work to do before I turn the key and hit the highway.
